First of all, I would like to apologize for the quality of the video, it was taken on my Blackberry while everyone, including me was jumping up and down The post is updated with a higher quality version of “The Motto” live thanks to hhnm. Now back to the review…Last night Tyga was in Toronto for his #LastKings concert; it was an all ages event at Toronto’s Koolhaus. The event wasn’t too hyped up which meant better spots for me as it was a general admission type of concert. Just like the Mac Miller concert the crowd was mostly high school kids if anything, me and my friends where probably one of the few university kids present.
Personally, I’ve been a fan of Tyga since “Diamond Life” which was a song featured on Need For Speed Undercover, if you like Tyga and never heard “Diamond Life”, I really recommend you checking that joint out. Tyga couldn’t of picked a better time to have a concert with his highly anticipated mixtape #BitchImTheShit dropping midnight tonight.

Less about Tyga, more about the concert. The crowd was getting pretty rowdy because he took so long to get on stage. The doors opened at 7, he came on at 11:15. He started the show with what I thought was the perfect opening song “Tyga Montana”. The crowd at this point was going crazy. When it was time for his and Chris Brown’s hit “Snapbacks Back” the majority of the crowd was wearing a snapback and everyone had their hats in the air to the song. After a few more songs, Tyga brought out a fellow Last Kings member, and a local talent by the name of Honey Cocaine. The amount of smoke, and noise in the room at this point was insane. They performed “Heisman pt. 1”. A couple songs later, Tyga says: “when I say Honey, you say Cocaine. When I say Last, you say Kings. When I say Young, you say money. When I say OVO, you say…” maybe he wanted to say XO but who knows the crowd went HAM sandwich at this point, if Honey Cocaine wasn’t enough, “The Motto” beat drops and Drizzy Drake himself comes out and kills the track. People where jumping over the barriers into the VIP section just to get a closer look at Drake. Personally, I thought Drake should of came out when Tyga was performing “Real or Fake” when he says “Shout out to Drizzy, I’m posted in Toronto” cut the beat and drop “The Motto”. He finished the show with his single off of Careless World, “Far Away”.
After Drake and Nicki Minaj, Tyga is definitely up there as the most talented in Young Money. If you ever get a chance to see Tyga live in concert, I’d check it out if I was you. He’s a great performer with a lot of energy. Careless World drops December 20th, make sure you cop that.
