OF took on the Hammerstein Ballroom on March 20th for the release of their new album, OF Tape Vol. 2. With around 4,000 people in attendance, the rap group started off the concert with clips from their upcoming Adult Swim TV series, Loiter Squad. After about 10-15 minutes of clips, Syd came out to DJ. Syd dropped Waka, Ye & Jay and more. SHe then transitioned into Mellowhype’s “64” to finish off her set. Hodgy came out mid verse to finish up the track and then the rest of the night was history. Hit the jump to read on, watch HD footage, and check some pictures of Earl and the rest of the crew performing.
“Y’all n***as know we don’t have no set list” one of the members of Odd Future said on the mic as the crew was huddled in a circle towards the end of the concert. From Mike G performing solo tracks to Domo, the whole group showed their versatility on stage. Tyler is known for his limitless energy at his shows, but his peers were going just as crazy. When Earl hit the stage, there was not a care in the world. The fans in Hammerstein Ballroom couldn’t have been anymore hyped. Earl Sweatshirt is back my friends. Frank Ocean performed his newly released “White” track that is featured on OF’s new tape for the first time live. He also performed “She” along side Tyler.
OF Tape Vol. 2 showed a new level of maturity for the group, moving towards a more serious role in the hip-hop game. While we’ll still be able to see the groups insanity on their new Adult Swim show Loiter Squad, I think we’ll be seeing less of that in their music and more of the lyricism that helped the group gain popularity last year. Enjoy the HD footage below. I’ll end it by asking, “who keep shittin’ in the tub?”
