Logic delivers another impressive music video directed by GRVTY. 6ix produces this joint and samples Paramore’s “Decoded”. Although the production was nice and visual was professionally done, Logic’s flow can definitely be compared to Drakes. Not necessarily a bad thing, since Logic is known for always being himself on other tracks and most importantly, being versatile. But I thought it was still noteworthy. Logic started the track off with a dope lyrical verse, but some of it was sung and the flow was easily comparable to Drake’s flow. Another key note in making this realization was that Drake’s “Underground Kings” beat is very similar to Logic’s “Numbers”, making me pay more attention to the similarities in flow. I realize that I am writing an excessive amount about a small critique, but I just wanted to make it clear that although he might be biting Drake’s music a bit, we all know Logic is just having fun with it. He is testing out the water in making mainstream songs, as we saw on “The Spotlight“, sticking to that classic raw hip hop, see “Young Sinatra III“, and now trying to be lyrical over a chill beat. He is successful in taking shots at those who always doubted him on this track and definitely delivers an overall positive song. I will always be a Logic fan, no matter what path he takes. Song after song, Logic proves why he is one of the best upcoming rappers in the game right now. The music video is a must watch, at 150k views, Logic will let go the mp3. Even with the slight comparison, Logic is still Logic. He may sounds like Drake on “Numbers”, but he is creating his own genre in the future and I am sure of it. His talent is shown on every release and definitely will be evident through out his upcoming mixtape. Enjoy the video above and give Logic a follow on twitter. He is the only rapper, I see really connecting with the fans on a daily basis.
